Basically, cutting fluid is necessary during CNC mechanical machining. A good cutting fluid have to satisfy the performance as below:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Absorb the heat of the tool and the workpiece to keep the temperature of the working environment stable (especially for precision workpieces).<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Improves lubricity between workpieces and tools, reduces tool wear, chip soldering, and extends tool life.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Prevent rust from machinery and tools.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In addition, There are two main functions of using cutting fluid on the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

    Cooling<\/strong><\/h5>\n

    Due to friction and energy loss, metal cutting produces heat that deforms the material. The surrounding air has poor thermal conductivity. It’s only suitable for general maintenance, repair and light machining. If the production work requires a large amount of cutting for a long time, the use of cutting fluid can remove heat faster, and can also accelerate cutting, reduce friction and tool wear.<\/span><\/p>\n

    If the cutting fluid is not used, the tool or working surface temperature tends to be too high, causing thermal expansion deformation or other chemical reactions such as oxidation.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Lubricating<\/strong><\/h5>\n

    In addition to cooling, the cutting fluid aids in machining by lubricating the interface between the cutting edge of the tool and the chips. Overheating is prevented by reducing friction at the interface. This lubrication also helps prevent chips soldering to the tool, which can interfere with subsequent cutting.<\/span><\/p>\n
